Why you need to save energy

why is it necessary to save electrical energy

Is it worth saving energy if “everything is fine”?There are huge oil and gas reserves, large hydroelectric plants and numerous nuclear reactors. Is this really not enough? It's enough, but you still need to save money, because...

International Energy Saving Day was established relatively recently, on November 11, 2008. The initiator of the holiday was the environmental network “School project on the use of resources and energy”.

It would seem that the children have come up with a holiday for themselves, let them have fun, adults don't care.In fact, the holiday was not invented by children, but by adults and responsible people who care about the fate of humanity and the planet.

Unfortunately, not all of us see the need to save energy, so it is very important that the initiator of Energy Saving Day is a school project. If children understand why to save energy, they will no longer have to convince adults of the importance of taking care of resources.

And yet, why? What do energy savings bring us?

1. Money

Everything is simple with money. We spend less energy – we pay less for it.Perhaps someone will make a scornful face: “We count meager sums here!”But that’s just one of the benefits of saving energy.

2. Comfort

A significant portion of energy expenditure is devoted to maintaining a comfortable temperature at home and in the office. In winter - for heating, in summer - for air conditioning.

A properly configured climate system not only uses energy efficiently, but also maintains “comfortable weather in the house”.In winter, no one freezes, in summer, no one languishes from suffocation.

3. Nature

The share of “green” renewable sources in global energy production is constantly increasing. But the volumes of “clean” energy will not soon match those we obtain from burning gas, coal and petroleum products.

By burning hydrocarbons, we emit into the atmosphere a huge amount of substances harmful to all living beings, from which not only us, but also our animals, our rivers, our forests and our lakes suffer.

The less energy we consume, the less dirt enters nature, the better our health, the lusher our forests and the cleaner our waters. Most often, our children will be able to see a rabbit, a stork or a deer not through the bars of a zoo, but on a forest path, in front of the window of a train or a car.

4. Climate

Not a day goes by without the media reporting a new hurricane, a catastrophic heatwave, a flood or a drought.Scientists blame this on global warming and associate it with an increase in the concentration of greenhouse gases in the planet's atmosphere.

Energy is one of the most potent air pollutants containing carbon dioxide.By reducing energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions, we can stop negative climate processes.

Let the skeptics assert that nothing is really proven, that it is possible that the increase in the concentration of greenhouse gases is not a cause, but a consequence of warming. Is this a reason to refuse something that can harm our planet? Is it too dangerous to wait for reliable confirmation?Who will expect them and who will need them if the point of no return is passed?Certainly not us and not us.

5. Economy and technology

The lower the production costs of energy, the lower its price, the higher the competitiveness of our products, the more efficient the economy.

Efficient energy consumption stimulates scientific thinking and the development of modern technologies.Does anyone remember when American cars stopped pumping gas on highways? After the first energy crisis of 1973.

The latest technologies ensure technological advancement, make products even more competitive and increase the country's economic and military security.

6. Children

We all work, play, discuss politics and climb the career ladder. But we live for the sake of our children, don't we?

The less we consume the planet's resources, the more will be left for our children and grandchildren.Isn't it worth saving energy just for that?
